On 3 hectares of private land with a view of the Pitons du Carbet is the botanical garden of Balata, a botanical garden created by the famous horticulturist Jean-Philippe Thoze. From a wild vegetation, passionate and creator of the garden in 1982, Jean-Philippe Thoze knew how to imagine and create a heavenly place.

The garden has more than 3,000 different types of tropical plants from all over the world, including 300 types of palm trees! Other plants include anthuriums, bamboos, begonias, bromeliads, cycads, heliconias, mahogany, alpinia and peace lilies.

A walk at the top of the big trees at more than 10 m from the ground which allows you to discover the garden from above. The Jardin de Balata also offers a unique playground for children: suspension bridges, slides, wooden towers, spring games.

The garden is located on the backyard road. It is built around an old creole house.

Ticket price :

Adult: €14.00, Children 3 to 12 years old: €8.00 Under 3 years old: Free

Open every day from 9am to 5:30pm. The last admissions to the Garden of Balata are at 4:00 pm
